The Lead Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume has charged the media professionals to stick to their role of forth estate, and stop media hype for questionable individuals in political and leadership position.
Apostle Achudume made this known earlier today at the church headquarters Ajebo Abeokuta, during the thanksgiving service of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun Council to kickstart the yearly Press Week.
He urged the Journalists to be faithful and put their best in their Profession, saying their role in essential in nation building.
The man of God emphasized that the greatest disservice Nigerian citizens have done to the nation is bad mouthing the people, painting a false picture of a failed nation that can never get it right.
Apostle Achudume said despite all the bad image, Nigerians are doing well in various industries, believing that there are better days ahead for the nation.
He called on political leaders to resist all forms of corruption and greed, but an opportunity to serve the people and make life better no matter the economic hardship.
Apostle Achudume added that,” Every Journalist should promote image of the country, project the works of the people and downplay all the bad people in our nation.
“Leadership is service to man and God and your fulfilment in life is not the money you have accumulated. Don’t see your political office as an avenue to create wealth. Nigeria is in Danger due to craziness for money, especially young people. Do your assignment as God sent you so you can be a free man and have peace in life.
“Discover yourself and know what you are born to do. If you want to succeed, locate your purpose in life and pursue it. Don’t allow distractions if you aim high in life.
In his remark, the chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Wale Olanrewaju appreciated Apostle Achudume for standing firm behind the Union which was part of the reason for great achievements within a short period in office.
