The Ogun state Police Command have paraded one Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim, 28 year old native of Abeokuta for cultism and possession of seven sophisticated guns in Ijebu-Ode area of Ogun State.
The suspect, popularly known as Bala who was a residence of Imaweje Community, student of Tai Solarin University of education Ijagun Campus Ijebu-Ode Ogun State, an acclaimed extra year student of the department of Library and information science 2023/24 academic session of the said TASUED confessed to be in possession of the guns, but denied the ownership.
Bala claimed that the weapons belonged to one Kudus, presently at large, who was also a student and a neighbor, denied being a member of any cult organization.
The police Commission, CP Abiodun Alamutu at a Press Conference, told journalists that the suspect happened to be the armourer for the said supreme Aiye confraternity.
He said the suspect and his gang have been responsible for the serial attacks on students and innocent members of the public within and around Ijebu Ode axis. He was trailed to his criminal hideout where the following firearms were recovered from his room.
1. ONE SERVICEABLE BROWNING PISTOL LOADED WITH FOUR ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION AND ITS MAGAZINE
2. ONE PUMP ACTION RIFFLE JOJEF WITH (10) ROUNDS LIVE CARTRIDGES
3. ONE ENGLISH SHORT DOUBLE BARREL RIFFLE
4. TWO LOCALLY MADE SHORT SINGLE BARREL RIFFLES
5. ONE LOCALLY MADE REVOLVER PISTOL LOADED WITH (02) ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION
6. ASSORTED CRIMINAL CHARMS.
The Police Commission disclosed that other members of his cult group will be apprehended soon, and they will be arraigned in court.
