Members of the Feed the Nation Women Farmers’ Association (FEEDNAWFA) have been encouraged to strengthen collaboration and remain alert to opportunities that can enhance their agricultural activities and livelihoods.
The charge was given by the Coordinator of the association, Olubukola Ladeinde, during the monthly meeting of FEEDNAWFA, where she emphasized the importance of unity and information sharing among members.
Speaking at the meeting, Ladeinde urged members to look out for one another and ensure that useful information capable of benefiting farmers within the association is shared widely.
She noted that access to timely and relevant information remains critical to the success of farmers, particularly in a rapidly evolving agricultural sector.
According to her, members should be proactive in taking advantage of opportunities designed to support farmers, stressing that new programmes and initiatives are continually emerging within the sector.
“There are continuous developments in the agricultural sector, and members must position themselves to benefit from the various opportunities available,” she said.
Ladeinde specifically drew the attention of members to the benefits being registered as farmers by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), encouraging eligible members to participate in their various exercises.
Ladeinde added that some of the benefits of being part of SMEDAN include, Access to Funding Opportunities, Free Training and Capacity Building, Mentorship and Business Advisory Support, Business Recognition and Credibility, Networking Opportunities, and so on.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for members to discuss challenges affecting their farming activities, share experiences, and explore ways of improving cooperation within the association.
Members expressed appreciation for the leadership’s efforts in keeping them informed about developments in the agricultural sector and pledged to remain committed to the association’s objectives.
The monthly gathering reaffirmed FEEDNAWFA commitment to empowering women farmers through information sharing, networking, and access to opportunities that promote sustainable agricultural development.
