In a major milestone for diaspora real estate investment, Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited has officially handed over property development permits and documentation to two key overseas clients at the Pelican Brief Estate in Kobape, Abeokuta.
The clients, identified as Mr. Alawaiye and Mr. Abejide, acquired their land three years ago entirely by proxy while residing abroad. Relying completely on the firm to handle the acquisition process, legal documentation, and development approvals, the duo returned to Nigeria over the weekend to inspect the site and commence physical construction.
Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, Managing Director and CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, hosted the investors on-site, describing the moment as a powerful testament to trust and transparency in the sector.
“One of the greatest rewards in real estate is watching your clients happily develop their properties, completely free from the anxieties of long-distance investing,” Adeyemo said. “Three years ago, they trusted our vision and acquired their lands strictly by proxy. Today, with their seamless property documentation fully secured, they are officially on-site and commencing physical development.”
Expressing gratitude to the company’s international clientele, Adeyemo added, “Thank you to all our diaspora clients for letting us protect your hard-earned capital. Your trust is the blueprint of our execution.”
Strategic Positioning & Diaspora Confidence
The Pelican Brief Estate is located along the rapidly expanding Kobape Corridor in Abeokuta. According to the company, the estate offers strong regional connectivity, situated roughly 15 minutes from the Wole Soyinka Railway Terminal in Abeokuta and 40 minutes from Alausa, Ikeja.
Both Alawaiye and Abejide expressed satisfaction during their site visit, noting that the firm delivered fully on its initial promises.
“For us, the physical development of the properties represents more than the completion of a transaction; it is a demonstration of the company’s stated commitment to ensuring that diaspora investments translate into tangible property ownership,” the clients stated.
The successful handover underscores a growing trend of Nigerians living abroad seeking secure, verified real estate opportunities back home without the risk of fraudulent proxy transactions.
