Medical Laboratory Scientist Adekoya Abimbola Julius has been elected National Vice President (South-West) of the Guild of Medical Laboratory Directors (GMLD) at the association’s 28th Annual General Meeting held in Abuja.
The election, conducted by the Guild National Electoral Committee chaired by Dr. Collins Swem, followed the dissolution of the outgoing executive. Newly elected officers were sworn in by Barrister MLS Marcus.
Adekoya, Director of Bimade Diagnostic Services in Lagos, brings nearly three decades of experience in diagnostic practice. He previously served as Vice Chairman of the GMLD Lagos Branch for four years and as Chairman for another four years. He is also Executive Director of the Initiative for Medical Diagnostic Awareness (IMDA).

The four-day conference, opened by a representative of the Minister of State for Health, centred on diagnostic sovereignty, local production, innovation, regulation and quality management in Nigeria’s laboratory sector.
