The Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) is mobilising about 30,000 members for its Ogun-East Mega Rally scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Rt. Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, Co-Convener and Director-General of the movement, announced the plans on Monday during a press conference at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta. He said the rally would showcase the group’s organisational strength, mobilisation capacity and commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Odeneye disclosed that YPM already has a documented membership of over 90,600 across Ogun State. The Ogun-East event, he noted, marks the start of a broader mobilisation drive that will later extend to the state’s other two senatorial districts.
“We have deliberately chosen Ogun-East as the starting point of this campaign to demonstrate our organisational strength, unity and readiness to support our party and its candidates,” Odeneye said.
He explained that the rally would mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, the APC candidate for Ogun-East Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (popularly known as Yayi), and other APC legislative candidates in the district.
The event will also feature the inauguration of specialised structures of the movement, including the YPM Artisans Ambassadors, Students’ Wing, Youth Wing and Women’s Wing. Odeneye said these structures are designed to broaden participation, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and integrate different segments of society into the movement’s activities.
According to him, YPM has continued to expand its network through constituency coordinators, polling-unit canvassers and organised groups across the state.
The programme begins with a solidarity trek from Mobalufon to the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium at 7:00 a.m., while the main rally starts at 11:00 a.m. Fuji musicians King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (K1 De Ultimate) and Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma are billed to perform, with comedian and compere Gbenga Adeyinka expected to anchor the event.
Odeneye assured residents and participants that adequate security arrangements are in place. He said the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Ogun State Amotekun Corps, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other relevant agencies would handle security and traffic management.

Meanwhile, Comrade Anthony Ayodele, President of the Artisan Association of Nigeria, Ogun State, said the rally would also witness the inauguration of 1,180 YPM Artisans Ambassadors and Grassroots Mobilisers. He described the initiative as a means of strengthening the movement’s structures across communities, wards and local government areas.
Ayodele said the ambassadors and mobilisers would serve as links between the movement and residents by engaging communities, communicating the group’s programmes, listening to concerns and encouraging peaceful participation in the democratic process. He highlighted the role of artisans in economic development, employment generation, skills acquisition and community advancement, noting that the initiative would give them greater representation and visibility in politics.
He urged artisans, community stakeholders, youth and women’s groups, students, market associations, party faithful and members of the public to attend the event. Ayodele also appealed to participants to maintain peace, respect public facilities, obey traffic and safety regulations, and cooperate with security personnel and event officials.
Organisers said the Ogun-East Mega Rally would strengthen cooperation among the various YPM structures while reaffirming their commitment to peaceful and democratic political participation ahead of the 2027 elections.
