…recovers arms, renews commitment to make Ogun cult free
The Ogun State Command of Nigeria Police Force have paraded suspected cultists, kidnappers, gun runners, and other social miscreants in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu while addressing journalists yesterday at the police headquarters Eleweran, stated that his command will not be conducive for criminals as well as their sponsors, because the force are determined to take the battle to their door steps.
CP Alamutu explained that “the Criminals have only two options, its either they turn up a new leaf or relocate from this State.
Failure to choose any of these two options will lead them to meet their waterloo. However, we are aware that some people were lured into cultism without knowing the implication, and so they got trapped.
The Command has opened a window of amnesty to such people. So they should renounce their membership of these groups and surrender all arms and ammunition in their custody.
They have a period of one month to do that. After the period of one month from today 11th July 2023, there is going to be a total clamp down on all known and unknown cultists who are perpetrating heinous crimes in the State, because the Command will not fold its arms while some unscrupulous elements will be making life unbearable for the good and law abiding indigenes and residents of Ogun State.”

One of the suspects paraded was Frances Okere, male 33years old resident of Kemta/ Somorin area in Abeokuta who is a member of the dreaded cult “AIYE CONFRATERNITY”. The suspect was arrested on the 6th of July with a long gun and three cartridges.
Another suspects, Olayinka Ogunkoya 23, Awotungase Samson 33, Abalo Ayomide 20 were Aiye cult members arrested with weapons in Sagamu area of the state.
Also,Saka Olawale 22years, member of Aiye cult was arrested at Ogijo area of the state with an English pistol.
In addition, an elderly man Adedamola Idowu 77years was paraded alongside one Tobi Adebisi 26years for defilement of a 7years old girl at Ijagun area of Ijebu Ode.
The police said, “the randy father,Adedamola Idowu and his neighbor Tobi Adebisi have been having unlawful carnal knowledge of the 7yr old girl. She has been referred for counseling and emotional therapy, and case has been transferred to SCID for discreet investigation and prosecution.”
