Chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) in Ogun State, Chief Olujobi Fayoyin have condemned the recent impeachment of the Speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly, Hon Taiwo Oluomo, while Hon Daisi Elemide, a member representing Odeda constituency, has been elected by 18 out of 26 members of the House.

The impeachment which the new leadership believed was due to Hon Oluomo arrogance, poor leadership, gross misconduct , lack of focus and transparency, promised to work with the governor for the progress of the state.

Chief Fayoyin called the impeachment a shameful display of lawmakers, who only did that for their selfish interest.

The grassroots politician made this known in Abeokuta earlier today while responding to the political development in the state, said the lawmakers action was shameful and a setback to democratic history of the state.

He said with the impressive number of opposition in the house, it was so unfortunate that the impeached speaker emerged through a kangaroo election of the house which was influenced by the sitting governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Chief Fayoyin expressed disappointment with what the lawmakers presented as reason for the removal, as it was for their selfish reasons. He said they have no interest of their constituency or the development of the people, but the sharing of the treasury which is contrary to why they were elected.

He called on the people to make reasonable demands from the new leadership of the House, on the plans for their constituency, and not just political position in the House of Assembly.
