…renews commitment to the development of Egba Heritage
The Sowande family of Ake paid a curtesy visit to Alake of EgbaLand, His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu ll.
The family led by Chief Oluyomi Ladeinde, Baala of Itesi appreciated the royal father for the age long relationship, and promised that the family will renew the tradition of annual visit to the palace.
Chief Ladeinde who introduced the individual family members, said the Sowande family will not take Kabiesi’s honor and privileges for granted promised that the family relationship with the palace will be more cordial.
Alake of Egba, His Royal Majesty Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu ll, appreciated the family, said it had been a long time he had received such visits. Kabiesi enjoined them not to be far from the palace, saying the family should visit the palace at least once in a year.
Oba Gbadebo also appreciated a member of the Sowande Decendant, Mr Diran Otegbade, a member of Olumo Progressive Association in Canada, for their various projects for the uplifting of Egba heritage outside the shores of the country. He said Mr Otegbade is an Egba ambassador doing the nation proud.
A member of the Sowande Family Decendant, Chief Obayomi Sowande also appreciated the Royal father for the honor to confer him with the chieftaincy title, Silemo of EgbaLand. He promised to contribute to the development of Egba kingdom and the uplifting of the people.
The conferment of the chieftaincy title on Chief Obayomi Sowande is scheduled for 1st of April, 2025.
