The popular phone and computer market in the city of Abeokuta, Ogun state capital will conduct its election in few weeks, one of the contestants, Omo’ba Obadina Hammed Olagoke,a.k.a Aseyori has promised to take the association to a greater heights when elected chairman.
Our corespondent, Abimbola Ajayi spoke with Aseyori in Abeokuta earlier today.
Our reporter: Tell us about yourself briefly
Aseyori: My name is Omo’ba Obadina Hammed Olagoke,a.k.a Aseyori. I’m an Egba man from Obafemi Owode L.G.A, raised in Abeokuta. I’ve attended notable institutions, including St. Paul Demonstration School and Ijemo Tuntun High School. I hold a National Diploma from Gateway Polytechnic.
Our reporter: Tell us how you came to this business environment
Aseyori: With over 13 years of experience in the phone business, I started as an apprentice in Abeokuta Computer Village (2010) and established my own business in 2011. I’ve served in various capacities, including:
– MOPDATEC Anniversary Chairman (2021)
– Three-term Coordinator for MOPDATEC Ramadan Lecture
As a goal-getter and progressive leader, I’m committed to driving growth and progress in MOPDATEC.
Reporter: Why do you desire this position of leadership
Aseyori: I desire to lead MOPDATEC because I believe in our collective potential. As a leader, I’d prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusivity to drive progress.
Reporter: What do you want the members to look out for in your government?
Aseyori: As the Chairman, my dreams include:
1. Strengthening our membership and unity
2. Enhancing our association’s reputation
3. Fostering innovation and development
4. Ensuring effective governance and accountability
I’d work tirelessly to achieve these goals, serving MOPDATEC’s best interests.
Reporter: In what capacity will you like the state government to assist the association when you get there?
Aseyori: As Chairman, I’d seek state government support in areas like:
1. Capacity building and training for members
2. Access to funding or grants for projects
3. Partnerships for community development initiatives
4. Securing a bigger market for Ogun State Mobile Phones Dealers and Technicians in the State Capital, Abeokuta
This would enhance member benefits, amplify our impact, and support economic growth for our members.
