The Lagos State College of Health Technology (LASCOHET), Yaba, has once again demonstrated its excellence in healthcare training, as 48 of its students successfully qualified as Medical Laboratory Technicians in the September/October examinations conducted by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
A total of 56 candidates from the institution sat for the professional examination, with 48 earning a pass—a remarkable 85.7% success rate. This strong performance reinforces LASCOHET’s standing as a leading institution in the training of highly skilled allied health professionals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to quality medical laboratory services across the country.
The achievement reflects the unwavering support of the College Management under the leadership of the Provost, Prof. Raheem Olasupo Akewushola, as well as the commitment of the dedicated academic and non-academic staff whose guidance and mentorship continue to shape competent graduates.
Prof. Akewushola extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Tolani Sule, and the Registrar of the MLSCN, for providing the enabling environment that made this milestone possible.
The Dean of the Medical Laboratory Technician Department, Mrs. Adekoya Vivien Emecham, along with the entire College management, also expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to the institution’s impressive success.
