The contractor in charge of the Panseke-Adigbe Road Project in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital have begun constructing culverts at strategic points of the road to forestall floods that have perrenially destroyed some parts.
This is in order to channel groundwater and storm water through the new and clear waterways.
The project is experiencing a speedy progress despite the busy motorists and rainy weather.
Currently, Engineers are constructing a 1.2x2m box culvert around RabEng Filling Station, towards stopping the torrential waterflow which yearly causes businesses in the area to either close down or temporarily use makeshift shelters.
The culvert construction is going on alongside the installation of drainage and relocation of power lines on both sides of the road.
The State Government has expressed appreciation over the cooperation and patience displayed by residents and business owners, whose activities have been temporarily and briefly disrupted, as engineers carry out their duties.
