OGUN SUBEB NEW EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN CHARGES STAFF ON PROFESSIONALISM

The newly sworn-in Executive Chairman of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi has charged both teaching and non-teaching staff of Ogun SUBEB to perform their duties as expected and ensure they make responsibility, accountability and transparency their watch-word.

The SUBEB Boss gave this charge at the maiden meeting he had with other board members and Management team of the Board at the Board’s conference room, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. He went on to state that all Staff must imbibe good record keeping habit and display of professionalism always.

Dr. Majekodunmi stressed the need for Departments and Units of the Board to key into His Excellency’s vision of repositioning the basic education Sector and bring to the front burner innovative ideas that will enhance good value to the system. He also, expressed that, achievements could not be made without discipline and commitment; therefore, all members of Staff must be punctual, regular and responsible at all time.

The Board Chairman disclosed his commitment towards the established vision of the Board as an implementation agency
for provision of qualitative and accessible basic education for the good people of Ogun State. Also, he promised his unalloyed support for the overall mission of the Board by initiating, coordinating and monitoring of activities in basic education sub-sector in order to continually enhance the learning condition and build the capacity of teachers for improved learners’ academic performance.

On behalf of other Board members, the Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR for their appointments, noted that it was a great honour and rare privilege to serve humanity. He then pledged to contribute meaningfully to on-going efforts of the state government on education in Ogun State.

Earlier in his welcome address the Board Secretary, Ogun SUBEB, Mr. Wasiu Olalekan Kuye thanked and appreciated His Excellency for the appointment of thorough- bred professionals that are renowned and reputed for excellence in their chosen careers. He is of the opinion that the new board members would add value to the government desire on repositioning of basic education in the State.

Mr. Kuye while briefing the gathering, highlighted some of the laudable achievements made since the last Board handed over in May, 2019. He appreciated the Management Team for their full cooperation in carrying out critical roles of the board which include; provision of qualitative, free and compulsory education in the school-aged children in the State. He went on to mention some of the challenges
facing the board which require urgent intervention, which includes inadequate Project Vehicles, inadequate Offices at the Board and Local Government Education Authorities to mention but few.

The Board Scribe congratulated the Executive Chairman and his team and assured them of unflinching support and cooperation from the entire members of Staff in taking basic education to greater height.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Director, Quality Assurance, Mrs. Jokotade Agbatiogun congratulated and welcome the Executive Chairman and other Board Members, while the Director, Finance and Account, Mr. Sobande kolawale described the Executive Chairman as a fearless politician, and Elder State man who has gone far and wide. He assured him that the Management team would work according to his directives to achieve common aims and goals.

In his vote of thanks, the Director, Admin. and Supplies, Mr. Tunji Akinbo welcome the Board members and prayed that their tenure would bring innovations and blessings to basic Education in the State.
