Chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) in Ogun state, Chief Olujobi Fayoyin have condemned the recent explosion in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.
Chief Fayoyin while responding to the event yesterday in Abeokuta, said the sad occurrence could be avoided if the government have be up and doing in their responsibilities.
He said the explosion which was linked to illegal mining at the Bodija area of Ibadan, could be avoided if the Ministry of Mine and Steel takes absolute responsibility of overseeing the mining activities, especially by foreigners.
Chief Fayoyin who also sent his condolences to families who lost their loved ones, called for detailed investigation to avoid future occurrence.
He said the government should do more in security of life and property of citizens especially at this trialing period when people are lamenting hardship .
