… commended INEC for credible exercise, optimistic of Victory for APC
The former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba was today disappointed as he was disenfranchised from casting his vote at ward 14, Ibara 1 in Abeokuta the state capital, due to inability by the Bimodal Voters Authentication System (BVAS) to register him.
Chief Osoba who had earlier visited his polling unit for the accreditation but could not because of failure of the BVAS, expressed satisfaction on huge turnout of voters at his polling unit.
He said,” I have been here twice today and the BVAS failed, the BVAS could not authenticate my details so, I have refused to vote because it may lead to the cancellation of the entire votes at this unit,despite the fact that my name and picture was on the voters register, which I used in 2019 successfully.”
Chief Osoba added that, “I feel very sad, but I was encouraged with the urge turnout, and particularly presence of many elderly people who came out,it gives me confidence that APC is close to victory.”
Commenting on the efforts of the electoral umpire, he added that,”I have confidence in INEC, it was just a technological failure, only two or three of us could not vote in this unit. Definitely we will do everything possible to make sure that the situation is corrected, and ensure that the IT Centre makes it work better.”
Our correspondence that monitored the Presidential and National Assembly Election in Ogun Central reported that the turnout of voters was impressive and it was peaceful.
