38th Lisabi Festival: Alake Promises Vibrant, Rich, Unique Celebration of Lisabi Festival

The 38th Lisabi Festival of Egba is promised to be very unique, vibrant, rich in celebration, which is slated for 31st of March to 6th of April 2025.

This was made known on Monday at a press conference by the Alake of Egba, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu ll, at his palace in Abeokuta.

Oba Gbadebo revealed that this year celebration will be very unique and rich in the celebration of the Egba heritage and cultural values, picking late Oba Sir Ladapo Idowu Ademola ll, Alake of EgbaLand (1920-1962) as the hero of the day.

He said, “Lisabi Festival remains a vibrant rallying point for all Egba sons and daughters both home and abroad to celebrate our richly endowed culture and bring to bear qualitative development in EgbaLand.”

Kabiesi added that “ it is not gain saying that Egba sons and daughters on the global stage in various fields of human endeavors hold sway and blaze the trails in positive accomplishment thus sustaining and keeping alive the virtues of resilience, doggedness, astute leadership qualities and service to humanity encapsulated by life and time of Lisabi Agbongbo Akala.”

The chairman of the organizing committee, Chief Abdul Rashid Raji, Asipa of Egba announced the theme for the celebration as,”Back to Land: Panache For Food Sustainability and Youth Empowerment in EgbaLand “

He said the program will feature cultural entertainment by different cultural groups, Egbaliganza(Fashion celebration), Youth musical concerts, sports competitions,Agricultural exhibition, school debates, Commissioning of Library and ICT centre, etc.
