Prominent real estate entrepreneur and veteran broadcast journalist, Babatunde Adeyemo, has been celebrated by associates, admirers, and stakeholders across various sectors as he marks his 47th birthday.
Adeyemo, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, is widely recognised for his contributions to journalism, real estate development, and humanitarian service in Ogun State and beyond.
Born Babatunde Muritala Adeyemo, the celebrant first built a reputation in the media industry as a respected broadcast journalist known for professionalism, composure, and dedication to ethical journalism before transitioning into entrepreneurship.
Over the years, he has emerged as one of the notable figures in Ogun State’s real estate sector through several housing and commercial projects, including Pelican Valley Estate Laderin, Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments, Pelican Greenish Acres Farm Estate, and Pelican Stream-View Estate located along the rapidly developing Kobape–Masa corridor.
Industry observers have credited his company’s projects with contributing to urban development, job creation, and efforts aimed at addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit. His emphasis on transparency, approved planning standards, and sustainable development has also earned recognition within the sector.
In recognition of these contributions, the Ogun State Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning previously honoured Adeyemo and his company for adherence to planning regulations and support for activities marking World Habitat Day in the state.
Beyond business, Adeyemo is also reputed for his philanthropic interventions through the Oko Opo Widows Foundation, an initiative that has provided support for widows, children, and vulnerable persons through medical outreach programmes, scholarships, food distribution, and welfare assistance.
The foundation has also supported widows and children of deceased journalists in Ogun State through educational sponsorships and medical assistance, reflecting Adeyemo’s continued ties to the journalism profession.
Described by associates as humble, principled, and compassionate, the real estate entrepreneur has received several awards from professional groups, student bodies, youth organisations, and community associations in recognition of his contributions to entrepreneurship and social development.
One of his notable recognitions came in 2025 when the University of Lagos honoured him during the institution’s Dinner and Award Night for his contributions to leadership and nation-building.
As tributes continue to pour in on his birthday, admirers say Adeyemo’s journey from the newsroom to the boardroom remains a source of inspiration to many young entrepreneurs and professionals across the country.
