Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and the Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, have called on Yorubas in South Africa to contribute to the development of Southwest Nigeria through strategic investments and remittances.
Speaking at the 7th Annual Heritage Day of the Association of Yorubas in Diaspora South Africa (AYIDSA) held in Pretoria, Governor Adeleke urged Nigerians in the diaspora to support education, healthcare, and community initiatives in their home states, noting that Osun is witnessing renewed growth across sectors.
Echoing the governor’s appeal, Ambassador Adeyemo encouraged diaspora investors to take advantage of opportunities in Nigeria’s real estate market, particularly Pelican Valley’s eco-friendly Smart Homes projects in Ogun State. He highlighted the firm’s strong record of transparency, rapid property appreciation, and sustainable housing innovations such as the Ecostay Apartments.
Adeyemo noted that Pelican Valley estates have seen remarkable growth, with land values rising from ₦1 million to ₦40 million within a few years. He assured investors of high returns, flexible payment plans, and a secure investment environment.
The event, chaired by Governor Adeleke and attended by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, celebrated Yoruba unity, culture, and development. The keynote speaker, Dr. Jane Mufamadi of South Africa’s Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, praised AYIDSA for promoting cultural pride and strengthening ties between Nigeria and South Africa.
