The Vice-Chancellor of prestigious Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola, has challenged students of the institution to stimulate deep hunger for God and reflect that through patterning their lives after Christ Jesus, who is the role model for the entire christian race, while copying the lifestyles and attitudes of faithful Bible characters like Joseph and Daniel.
This was the submission of Prof C.P. Babalola’s sermon from Gen. 37:3-36 at the University Chapel on Sunday 31st July, 2022.
The worship service was a unique one beyond the weekly assemblage. It was specially for so many graduating students, as it also served as a round up fellowship service commemorating the end of the outgoing session.
The service was also a day of showing for 44 students who successfully scaled through the first Discipleship and Leadership Class to receive their certificates of completion from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Babalola.
The service was also a special session to confer an Award of Excellence and Meritorious Christian service on one of the University’s Governing Council members and erstwhile Chaplain, Ven. (Dr) Bamidele Okunnuga, for his pioneering role in stimulating spiritual growth of students.
He acknowledged the honour bestowed on him and admonished students to persevere in their walk in faith.
The University Chaplain, Rev Juwon Onasanya who conducted and presided over the service appreciated the Board of Trustees led by the Chancellor and Founder of the Institution, High Chief Dr. (Mrs) Winifred Awosika for providing a solid atmosphere for spiritual and sound learning for the students.
