Federal High Court, sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital today nullified the candidature of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship flag bearer in the State, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye.
The court noted that the primary election which produced Otegbeye was not monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The court affirmed that the primary was held in violation of the Electoral Act, while noting that the candidature of Biyi Otegbeye is against a clear position of the electoral act.
In a reaction, the party issued a release faulting the position of the court, stating that all the party candidates followed genuine guild lines of the new electoral laws, promising to appeal the said judgement.
The release signed by the legal adviser to Ogun State ADC, Ifenla Oligbinde Esq. called on party members and loyalists to be calm and focused, as it was a pattern to distract the good people of the state, towards the 2023 general election.
