The Oladipupo Foundation for Sickle Cell has marked 15 years of sustained commitment to improving the lives of people living with sickle cell disorder, celebrating its journey under the theme “Raising and Sharing Hope Since 2010.”
At the anniversary celebration, the convener and founder, Dotun Oladipupo, expressed profound gratitude to individuals, partners, and supporters who have stood by the Foundation throughout its 15 years of service. He also paid special tribute to his family for their unwavering support during his personal medical challenges and search for treatment.
The Foundation has become a beacon of hope for many families affected by sickle cell disorder, inspiring parents and patients alike with the belief that survival and purposeful living are possible. Oladipupo’s personal resilience has encouraged countless families to remain hopeful that their children can overcome the challenges associated with the condition.
As part of the event, the award of Grand Patron was given to the Ogun state governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun Cfr, which was received by the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Engineer Mrs Noimot Oyedele Salako.
Honourable Wasiu Isiaka, Ogun State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, was also honoured with a Patron Award.
Another Patron Award was presented to Honourable Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Yewa Federal Constituency.
While celebrating the milestone, stakeholders also reflected on the ongoing realities faced by people living with sickle cell, including chronic pain, mental health challenges, social stigma, and the urgent need for stronger national policies, improved counselling services, and more comprehensive support systems.
The event concluded with goodwill messages congratulating Dotun Oladipupo, his wife Adebusola, his parents, and all contributors to the Foundation’s impactful journey, with renewed commitment to advancing advocacy and care for sickle cell warriors.
