As part of efforts to ensure that Ogun State maintains its pride of place in the education sector and for students to continually compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe, a retired Principal-General in the State, Mrs. Gbemi Onasanya has donated educational resources to aid learning, particularly for Senior School three (SS3) students.

Onasanya, while presenting the materials to the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, explained that the teaching aid contained Compact Discs (CDs) on WASSE and JAMB past questions, with answers which could be adopted by schools to effectively prepare students for the forth coming examinations.

According to her, ‘’ the materials which are products of EDSOFTA Limited were donated by the MD/CEO, Dr. Adedamola Fasehun, to celebrate my successful career in the education industry and impacts made in advancing effective teaching and learning through my outfit, Teachtek Consulting. Students can use them on their own and schools can also adopt them for general use’’.

Onasanya, who is presently a Commissioner in the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) appreciated Dr. Fasehun for deeming it fit to honour and celebrate her modest achievements in the education industry, as well as her recent appointment by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

‘’I feel so delighted to be able to donate the educational resources for the benefit of students in the state, knowing that Ogun is a pace setter and a strong force to reckon with, especially in the field of education.

‘’The Prince Dapo Abiodun led Administration’ is doing so much to keep the flag flying and putting round pegs in round holes through the appointment of a seasoned educationist in the person of Prof. Arigbabu, to lead the industry’’, she stated.

While enjoining the students, who are the end users, to take advantage of the materials which she reiterated would help prepare them adequately for the examinations, Commissioner Onasanya admonished them to shun acts that could jeopardise their future.

In his remark, Prof Arigbabu expressed delight for the kind gesture by the former Principal-General towards education development in the State, saying the materials would be of tremendous support to effective teaching and learning.

He promised to make them available to schools across the State, calling on corporate bodies and well meaning individuals to support the ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda of the present administration in the State.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Bosede Ogunleye lauded Mrs. Onasanya for the donation, describing her as a great pillar of support to education development in Ogun State.
