The Ogun state Governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun Mfr. have approved the construction of more 12 roads in different parts of the state.
The governor made this known after the state executives meeting through the state Commissioner for works and infrastructure,Eng Ade Akinsanya in Abeokuta.
The Commissioner disclosed that the recent violent protest within the state had made contractors to stop work as they were unable to move Materials to site, because some of their workers were attacked.
Eng Akinsanya said the governor had mandated that work should continue as soon as possible so as to deliver the projects on time.
The roads approved are; Rehabilitation/Reconstruction of Ilishan Market Road,in Ikenne LG,Sagamu-Ore Interchange in Ijebu-ode/Odogbolu LG(Fly over Bridge/Interchange over Federal Highway), Rehabilitation of Inner Roads Itori junction,Total Road in Ewekoro LG and reconstruction of Joju road in Ado Odo Otta LG of the state.
Also reconstruction of Olomore Junction and Sanni Road(off Lanfenwa-Roundabout)in Abeokuta North LG, reconstruction of SAGAMU Junction-Iperu Roundabout road in SAGAMU/Ikenne LG, reconstruction of Iperu Roundabout-Ode Road in Ikenne LG,reconstruction of Ago Iwoye Oru-Ijebu Igbo Road in Ijebu North LG(which is in two phases,the first phase will be done now), reconstruction of Obafemi Awolowo way-Mada-Takete and reconstruction of Orile Oko in Remo North LG.
Lastly, reconstruction of Ilashe-Koko Alari Road in Ipokia LG,and Somorin Kemta,Idi-Aba Road in Odeda LG will also be done.
The Commissioner promised that the roads will be done professionally with the best Materials for the benefit of the public.
