Recently, the news about the deplorable state of the Community High School, Akute was first reported when Hon. Salami visited the school after he received a letter by Denro-Ishasi Area CDC.
At the end of the visit it was established that the school needs special intervention as there is no accessible road, as well as conducive environment for students and teachers to carry out teaching and learning activities respectively.

Mrs Soyombo and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Olaseni Ogunleye visited the school after a memoir was pushed to the Special Adviser over the deplorable state of the school buildings and its immediate environment which needed urgent government attention.

The school itself has always been ravaged by perennial floods which has led to loss and displacement of school properties. Many students have been withdrawn from the school by their parents due to risk of life which made the school to be temporarily relocated to Z.I primary school, Akute for safety pending the time government makes a lasting solution to the issue on ground.

Also, the continued flooding from the Ogun River has brought about tall bushes and vegetation along road path which has made it very impossible for teachers and students to navigate. It also becomes a prey route for wild animals like snakes.

Mrs. Soyombo alongside her team having testified to the awkward reality on ground about the school, urged for better cooperation and understanding from the community leaders, the Baale’s and the Alakute of Akute while assuring them that, Governor Dapo Abiodun will attend to their plights as soon as the report of the visit is completed.

Having critically assessed the situation on ground by the team, it was suggested that a new location should be proposed for the relocation of the community school. This led the whole entourage to the proposed relocation site for the school.

Meanwhile, Mrs Soyombo’s love for education and need to ensure every child gets the most befitting education they deserve also followed the Council boss and the Special Adviser on Women Affairs to the Governor, Hon. Adijat Adeleye to Ilupeju Primary School, Yewande in Okearo/Ibaragun/Robinyan ward that have been seeking government intervention.

She was displeased about the decay and deplorable state of the primary school as no class room was conducive for learning. There were neither tables nor chairs for pupils nor door and windows for protection as the roof also is nothing to write home about.
About 300 pupils attend the school in that state.

Hon Salami briefed the S.A on the steps he had taken so far and the need to fasten the process of rehabilitating the school.

The S.A gave her words of assurance that steps will also be taken on the school such that it becomes rehabilitated to what will be seen as a testimony of love by Governor Dapo Abiodun led Government.

Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo and Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Ganiyu Oyedeji for the roles they played towards ensuring that their people get good and sound education.
