Governor Abiodun Approves Career Advancement for Graduate Primary School Teachers

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the career advancement of Graduate Primary School Teachers in the Tutor Cadre from Grade Level (GL) 16 to GL 17.

The approval was disclosed in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who explained that the decision is aimed at addressing stagnation at the peak of the cadre while boosting motivation and improving service delivery within the primary education system.

Mr. Onasanya also revealed that the Governor has approved a consolidated salary structure for Head-Teacher General, effectively upgrading their status. According to him, the move underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting its workforce.

He noted that the policy decision, which follows a comprehensive review of existing career progression frameworks, is designed to enhance learning outcomes across the state.

The Head of Service further stated that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been directed to implement the policy with immediate effect.

He added that the development aligns with the ISEYA pillar of the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration, reaffirming Ogun State’s position as the education hub of the nation.

Mr. Onasanya emphasized that the Abiodun-led administration remains committed to implementing progressive policies that promote educational development, while urging teachers to sustain their dedication to efficient and effective service delivery.
