It was a black Sunday in the early hours of today as a petrol tanker,laden with fuel overturned while making its way inbound Rounder from Oju-Irin, Lafenwa, and engulfed in fire.
Lafenwa is a busy commercial area in Abeokuta,the state capital with one of the biggest market.
The sad incident, according to the TRACE Corps PRO, Cdr. Babatunde Akinbiyi was as a result of uncooperative attitude of people around the axis through scooping of fuel and other unwholesome act which sparked off the fire.

As at the time of this report, three people were burnt beyond recognition.
Security operatives and officers from the Ogun State Fire Service were at the scene in response to the fire incident.
Sadly, hoodlums and street urchins were seen looting makeshift stalls close to the scene as police men we’re trying to control the crowd.
The bodies of the three casualties have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.
Moreover, 2 patrol vans belonging to TRACE Divisional Command, Abeokuta, and 2 heavy duty vehicles belonging to the Federal and State Fire Service, were also vandalised, with some of both Services operatives ( TRACE & FIRE SERVICE), also assaulted during the rescue operation.
