The social decadence in the society especially in our secondary have been associated with idleness and wrong orientation among the younger generation.
This was made known today by the Commandant,Cadet Network Nigeria,Lt Col Joshua Gbolarinwa Fatoye during a radio program on Smash FM in Abeokuta Ogun State.
He said wrong orientation of the youth can be linked to the increasing crime in our society.
Col Fatoye added that,”Our goal is to reorientate the youth on social vices, especially cultism and use of hard drug in our various institution of learning.Its unfortunate that many naive young people have been a victim of wrong orientation,and the only way to correct this is through a discipline Corps like us.We don’t only get them engaged,we provide them platforms to legitimately express themselves in a lawful manner.”
The Corps Commander called on all stakeholders in the security sector to get on their feet so as to address the security situation in Ogun State.
Though,the Corps presently have limitations in operation,but with support of government and corporate institutions, such issues will be addressed.
He called on parents to give proper attention to their children, especially during this period of festivity and holiday, to avoid peer pressure and wrong association which can lead to crime.
