It was a rowdy session earlier today as a Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Darlington Nwokocha, moved a motion for the suspension of the ministerial screening of a ministerial nominee from Delta State, Festus Keyamo.
Enyinnaya Abaribe, a senator from the Abia-South Senatorial District, seconded Nwokocha’s motion.
Keyamo, a legal practitioner and human rights activist played a key role in the last administration in Nigeria.
The motion was then put to a voice vote by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, but the senators were divided on the matter, which may likely jeopardize Keyamo chance of becoming a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The voice vote led the red chamber immediately into a rowdy session.
