Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, His Royal Majesty Oba Lukman Adeleke Kuoye has revealed that his ascension to the throne of his forefathers is divine for the development of Imasayi and repositioning of the ancient city among the Yewa towns.
Oba Kuoye made this known at the weekend during a Press Conference to mark his First Year Coronation Anniversary at his palace.
The first class monarch gave glory to God for the grace to achieve so much in a short period of his reign, promising the people that they should expect more landmark achievements in few months.
He appreciated the good people of Imasayi, Yewa monarchs, and Ogun State government, Imasayi sons and daughters home and abroad for their inflicting support for him to have a peaceful reign with several development in a short time.
Oba Kuoye highlighted some of his achievements so far within one year on the throne, and how he was able to change the face of Imasayi kindom with the exposure and administrative experience he had before he become the King.
He also commended the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and all his cabinet members for their kind gesture to Yewa Land.
Oba Kuoye said,” I inherited two strong crisis that nearly claimed lives in Otigbo. I invited them, talked to them and advised them. At the end of the day; I was invited to the place with some of my chiefs and we were abled to sort it out.
NYSC in Ogun State has invited me on several occasions to the orientation camp to deliver lecture for Corp members . Before I became the king, we only have Eight teachers in both Primary and Secondary school in Imasayi but to the glory of God and the support of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education we are able to have many teachers and Corp members in the schools.
Speaking on the journey so far, the monarch said, “I just need to thank God. The journey has been so tough, several litigation and lack of exposure of some people.
I thank God now and I’m very sure with last judgement in court, everything have gone down. Some of Imasayi indigens are not ready to transform the town, but i am trying my possible best to make them see reasons why they should join me to change Imasayi for better.
“I have changed the perceptions of my people that, there is no king without subjects. I have also change their perception about the traditional institution, and allow my chiefs to always feel free and enjoy themselves so that they will not be scared of telling me the truth. I have changed the face of the palace from the old look to modern one. I facilitated Borehole to Ayegbami Village and i have plan to commission two during the coronation anniversary.”
Commenting on the security issue of his domain,he said,”it’s very unfortunate and personally very concerned. We are seriously working with the SoSafe, Police, and other security agencies to address the issue.
