The recent allegations of coup by the impeached speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly, Hon Taiwo Oluomo which kicked him out of office have been described as effort in futility.

This was the reaction of New Nigeria People’s Party chieftain in Ogun state, Chief Olujobi Fayoyin in Abeokuta yesterday.

Chief Fayoyin said Hon Oluomo desperation to remain the speaker of Ogun state was for his selfish interest. He said his leadership in the house had no significant contribution to his constituency, Ifo 1, or a symbiotic relationship with his other Honorable members of the House.

He emphasized that,” As much as I didn’t support the process of the new leadership, the former speaker approaching the court is effort in futility. His emergence was more of imposition than election, so his impeachment was not unexpected from opposition and those of us following the trend.”

Chief Fayoyin called on the new leadership to be people oriented in the legislative duties, and not to lead the House as rubber stamp of the governor, the only way he can lead effectively.

He said legislative leadership is not taking the people for granted because of unholy romance with the executive , but true representation of the grassroots interest.
