OGUN COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH COMMENDS COMMUNITY PUBLISHERS ON PUBLIC HEALTH

The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr Tomi Coker has commended the community Publisher of Newspaper on dissemination of information on public health during the pandemic.
She made it known when members of the Federated Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalist,Ogun State Council paid her a courtesy visit,and also presentation of a merit award.
Dr Coker said the government wouldn’t have achieved success if the media were not there to play their key role.She said,”we were able to curtail the virus in our state during the heat of the pandemic because the media, expecially the community media were able to disseminate information to the people .What ever we say or plan can not get to the people without the media,so you are highly appreciated.”
The Publisher of Encounter News, Michael Ogunsiji appreciated the gallantry of the Ministry of Health during and after the first wave of the pandemic.He said the merit award was a well deserved for her role in public health and a progressive healthy society.
Similarly,Jaji Olamilekan Publisher of INFOLITE NEWS added that her role was so significant in the present administration considering the challenges of the pandemic.
He said the appreciation was a call to do more,be dedicated and consistent as the battle of the pandemic is not won.
Dr Coker extended the honour and credit to her team of dedicated staffs in the ministry, promising that this year will be better.
She also enjoined the public to obey all preventive guidelines to curb the Covid-19 virus.
