The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (AMORAN), and the Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organization (ROMO) in Ogun state have formed a joint taskforce for the implementation of the lockdown order.
This was made known through a release at the weekend in Abeokuta the state capital.
The agreement came after the state Governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun Mfr warned that motorcycle operator that violate the order will be punished.
The release which was jointly signed by the leadership of the three union,stated that,”we wish to state that our decision to jointly establish a task force is borne out of the many reports we have received about commercial motorcycle operators who disregard government directives on the number of passengers to convey at a time and the use of nose covers.”
The agreement is to enforce compliance by operators in support of government role in fighting Covid-19.
“The Association have reached out to commercial motorcycle operators in Ogun State using different means on the need to obey government directives in order to slow the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, we have resolved to take a bold step by embarking on the journey to enforce this directives to support the efforts of the government in its fight against the spread of the pandemic.”
They promised to play their part as a responsibility association in the fight against the Covid 19.
