Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), has passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident on December 17 while traveling from Akure to Ibadan, Oyo State. He died at a hospital in Ondo State on Saturday. Oluwatuyi was a brilliant administrator and a sagacious politician who played a stabilizing role in the government. He was a strong bridge between the political class and career officers. His death has been met with shock and sadness, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Oluwatuyi’s appointment as SSG was announced on January 24, 2024, by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. He was appointed alongside Mr. Abayomi Olasanya, who became the Chief of Protocol. Both appointments took immediate effect. During his tenure, Oluwatuyi worked tirelessly to ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programs. His expertise and experience were invaluable assets to the administration.
