The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Oni Electronics, Chief Mrs. Florence Oni-Quadri, has been installed as the Moraje of Owu Kingdom in recognition of her contributions to business, philanthropy and community development.
The installation ceremony formed part of activities marking the fourth coronation anniversary of the Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola and was held at the Olowu’s Palace in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The colourful event attracted traditional rulers, high chiefs, captains of industry, business associates, family members and other well-wishers who gathered to witness the conferment of the prestigious traditional title.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the oath of office and allegiance, which officially invested Oni-Quadri as the Moraje of Owu Kingdom amid rich displays of Owu cultural heritage, pageantry and royal splendour.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Olowu described the honour as a fitting recognition of Oni-Quadri’s outstanding achievements in entrepreneurship, philanthropy and her contributions to the socio-economic development of Egbaland. He commended her commitment to empowering people and supporting initiatives that promote community growth.
The celebration continued with a grand reception featuring performances by Islamic and Juju musicians, while the Oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo joined other eminent personalities to celebrate the newly installed chief.
Several dignitaries at the event described Oni-Quadri as a distinguished entrepreneur and humanitarian whose dedication to service and economic empowerment has earned her widespread respect, noting that the chieftaincy title was a reflection of her enduring impact on society.
In her acceptance remarks, an emotional Oni-Quadri expressed gratitude to God, the Olowu-in-Council and everyone who considered her worthy of the honour. She pledged to continue supporting initiatives that would advance economic growth, social development and the overall prosperity of Egbaland.
