The Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, and his wife, Mrs. Titilayo Adeyemo, have extended warm birthday wishes to elder statesman Aremo Olusegun Osoba as he marks his 86th birthday today, Tuesday, July 15.
Ambassador Adeyemo, a seasoned journalist and renowned real estate entrepreneur, described Osoba as a role model in journalism, a respected political figure, and an iconic leader whose influence continues to inspire generations across various sectors.
In recognition of the nation’s somber mood following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari and the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona—both of whom died on Sunday, July 13—Osoba has opted not to celebrate his birthday publicly. While Osoba joined dignitaries in paying his respects to Oba Adetona in Ijebu Ode, he is also expected to attend Buhari’s burial in Daura, Katsina State.
Nonetheless, Adeyemo emphasized that Osoba’s legacy deserves to be acknowledged. “He exemplifies integrity, dedication, and a lifelong commitment to public service,” he said, praying for continued health, wisdom, and longevity for the former governor.
He also recalled Osoba’s contributions to rural development during his tenure as Governor of Ogun State—particularly the rural electrification efforts that impacted communities like Kobape, where Pelican Valley’s estates now thrive. In appreciation, the longest road in Pelican Brief Estate has been named Aremo Olusegun Osoba Road.
“Without his vision 25 years ago, pulling a 35KVA power line into Kobape, we wouldn’t have been able to develop this estate. That’s governance at its best,” Adeyemo stated.
He concluded by expressing heartfelt gratitude and best wishes: “Happy 86th birthday, Baba Osoba. We thank you for your lasting contributions and pray for many more years in good health and prosperity.”
