Foremost realtor and philanthropist, Dr. Babatunde Adeyemo, said his Real Estate company was built on ‘integrity first and principle of building right always,’ which had earned him accolades, awards and recognitions from respected quarters.
Dr. Adeyemo stated this during the week at a seminar on Sex Education which was organised by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Deputy Senate President, Comrade Ekundina Segun Elvis .
He said he would continue to support worthy societal cause, rekindle the hope of Nigerian youths and model integrity, discipline, hard-work and the importance of proper life planning.
Dr Adeyemo, who was represented at the event by Pelican Valley’s Director of Operations, Mr. Ifeoluwa Daniel, and other staff, commended NANS for the Icon of Societal Transformation award given to him in recognition of his “distinctive leadership qualities, immense contribution to Nigeria’s economy, empowerment to the less privileged, undiluted love towards students development and selfless service to humanity.”
He said the seminar tagged, “Sex Education: A Panacea to Indecent dressing, Rape, Unwanted Pregnancy, and Prostitution Eradication,” was an eye opener, adding that it would go a long way towards giving the society the right sex education and curb the high rate of sexual abuses.
The Guest speaker, Prof. Ashimolowo Olubunmi called for need for parents and educational institutions to educate youngsters on what sex truly is and not myths.
Prof Olubunmi recalled that many sex-related cases handled by her organisation have shown that lack of proper sex education largely affected the victims.
The Don called on parents go provide proper sex education to their children, and not leave everything to the school to perform, adding that parents need to monitor youngsters activities on social media to avoid abuses.
