Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of Mrs Olubunmi Omotayo Oso as the new Secretary of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The appointment is expected to strengthen leadership continuity and improve operational efficiency in the administration of basic education across the state.
The Head of Service, Mr Iskeel Olanrewaju Saka, who disclosed the appointment, said it was made in accordance with the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board Law, 2005, and established procedures for the appointment of qualified officers to senior positions in the state public service.
Saka charged Oso to bring her wealth of experience and professional expertise to bear on the implementation of the state’s education policies.
He also urged her to contribute to the realisation of the administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda, particularly in the area of basic education.
Born on November 21, 1972, Oso joined the Ogun State Civil Service on June 11, 1999, as an Education Officer II.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Planning.
Prior to her appointment as SUBEB Secretary, Oso served as Director of Public Schools in the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
She is also a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Saka congratulated Oso on her appointment and urged her to justify the confidence reposed in her by demonstrating diligence, integrity and commitment to public service.
He expressed confidence that her experience in the education sector would contribute to effective administration and the continued implementation of basic education programmes in Ogun State.
