…empowers widow members, call on the society to show kindness and sense of belonging
A non governmental organization, Stress Free Life Foundation (SFLF) at the weekend extended her hand of love to members who are widows with a token of financial assistance.
This was done at an event in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital during the weekend attended by a good number of intels.
Speaking with our reporter at the venue of the empowerment inside the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Mr Olumide Tayo Lawal, a Lawyer and deputy Vice Chancellor, said the foundation,” is basically an Intellectual group of people all over the world, who have come together via Facebook to launch a platform where people can come, relax, kill stress, share jokes ,discuss life issues and then be happy.”
Reaching out to the society, Mr Lawal said,”I think we should give ourselves a pass mark .The foundation officially started in 2018, that year we were at Ijamido Children’s Home. We gave out goods worth hundreds of thousands to the home.
In 2019 we were at Ibadan, and we also did the same to one or two children homes. In year 2020, we were in Lagos ,and the point of call was Little Saints Orphanage in Ogudu Lagos, where we also donated hundreds of thousands worth of goods to the children.
2021, we were in Abeokuta, Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, Ibara. 2022 we were in Oshogbo. By the grace of God in Oshogbo we were at Catholic Home for the Children.
2023 by the grace of God, we are going to be in Ijebu Ode .We shall be having our convention in Ijebu Ode ,6th and 7th of January. We are planning of visiting the aged and the less privileged to be able to give.
Apart from that, we have embarked on feeding program to the less privileged in Ibadan, in Lagos,in Ota, in Abeokuta and so on.”
He added that the event was, “specifically for members ( widows who are members ). We are looking inward to help , so we have selected four members of which a token amount of money was given to them to start their lives.”
The Vice Chancellor of the foundation,Mrs Oluwatoyin Omomehin Ayodele expressed joy with the kindness shown to the beneficiaries, charged them to make use of the financial support judiciously.
She said,”they should utilize the token that we’ve given them very well. We are a foundation, we don’t get grant from anywhere we only get donations from our members. I want to encourage them ,no matter how small the amount is, at least it is something they should utilize. At the end of this month, I want to hear the good news that it has multiplied .So I wished them all the best.
A beneficiary, Mrs Bukky Subair, appreciated the executives of the foundation for looking inwards to show kindness to members. She prayed for more resources and wisdom to be a blessing to the society.
Another beneficiary, Mrs Taiwo Osuporu who was so delighted with the empowerment, prayed that the lord will show every members kindness in all areas of life.
Mrs Olufunmi Olutunbi , also a beneficiary expressed gratitude for the show of love and kindness, promised to use the fund judiciously.
