… calls on youth to take leadership position to revive the nation
Grassroot politician and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Ogun Central, Hon. Tolulope Philips has won the South West Young Political Icon Awards at an event organized by Synergy in Abeokuta at the weekend.
Hon Philips, a philanthropist and youth advocate, while receiving the award lauded the organiser, who were mostly youths, saying that the award is a testament that the future of the country is bright.
He added that the job of making Nigeria great again lies in the youth constituency, as he pleaded that the japa syndrome among the youth should be halted.
“I really appreciate you all for this award. Looking at the organisers, who are mostly the youths, it gives me more hope that the future of our great country is bright.
” Therefore, we must all contribute our quota to make it work. Our young ones should stop the japa syndrome and focus on how we can collectively activate our constituency to better the lots of the country.
“We can achieve a lot together if we stay focused on the goals, which is our motherland, Nigeria. Our best brains must back to develop the continent, instead of the japa we see today”, he said
The synergy awards, an annual award event is aimed at encouraging the youth constituency, mainly in higher institutions, political and social spheres in the country.
