A prominent member of All Progressives Congress in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Akeem Oluseye has explained the importance of youths participation in Nigeria politics.
Oluseye, a former Ogun Assembly aspirant said the youths need to get involved in political activities to better the society.
He made the call yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital while responding to questions from Journalists on the planned protest by some individuals.
Oluseye, a grassroot politician and philanthropist said the only way for the youth to be relevant and part of decision making, is to be in politics.
According to him,”The youth should see politics as a means to turn the society around in economy and social activities. Youths involvement is key to development of any society.
” It is not enough for us to sit on the fence and complain of bad leadership when we are doing nothing about it. We should all get involved to change the narrative.”
The businessman and IT expert emphasised that,” the youth constituency is a crucial part of the electoral population, and they play a key role in who takes the leadership of any society.
He therefore commended the Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on his promise to separate the Youth ministry from sports, so as to have more focus of youth issues and development.
“Such ministry will see to the governor’s agenda for youth and social development in the state,” he added.
He called on the youth constituency to support Prince Dapo Abiodun administration, pointing at his achievements in youths and social development, particularly employment and social support.
