The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ogun State Chapter, joins the good people of Ogun State in celebrating a remarkable milestone, 50 years of statehood, growth, resilience, and cultural distinction.
Ogun State, fondly referred to as the Gateway State, is more than a geographical space; it is an idea, a heritage, and a living archive of
excellence. For five decades, the state has stood as a fertile ground where intellect meets industry, where culture converses with progress, and where history continues to find fresh expressions in education, governance, arts, and innovation.
As writers and custodians of stories, ANA Ogun State recognizes Ogun as a cradle of literary and intellectual brilliance, a land that has produced some of Nigeria’s most influential thinkers, writers, scholars, and cultural icons.
From the classrooms to the printing
press, from oral traditions to
contemporary literature, Ogun State has consistently shaped national
discourse and enriched Nigeria’s literary landscape.
This golden jubilee is not merely a celebration of years, but of impact. It is a moment to reflect on the journeys walked, the stories written, the challenges overcome, and the dreams still unfolding. It is also a call to preserve our narratives, document our progress, and ensure that tuture generations inherit not just infrastructure, but identity.
The Association of Nigerian Authors, Ogun State Chapter, reaffirms its commitment to promoting literature, nurturing creative talents, preservins cultural memory, and using words as tools for enlightenment, unity, and development. We believe that a state that remembers its stories is a state that knows its future.
We congratulate the government and people of Ogun State on this historic achievement and wish the state continued peace, progress, and purposeful leadership in the years ahead.
