Some applicants of the Kobape Housing Scheme of Ogun state Ministry of Housing have appealed to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to look into their plight for over a year they paid for a property that was not allocated to them.
One of the applicants, Mr John Okusanya said the ministry have not reached out to him or other applicants after several promises last year.
He said,” it is disheartening and very frustrating after full payment for the property for more than a year, and nothing was done.”
Mr Okusanya informed our corespondent that the governor was unaware that they paid fully for the property, but the Ministry of Housing was not specific about when or how they will get their allocation.
Our correspondent who spoke with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry earlier said the Housing at Kobape have been allocated, but applicants should be patient because the houses were allocated in batches.
Another applicants who will not want his identity revealed said, the government should be factual about the issue. He said,” they should let us know if the Scheme is finished, and refund our money. It’s unfortunate that we can be treated like this in the hand of our government. I want Governor Abiodun to do something about it soon.”
All calls and messages to the Commissioner for Housing for his response on the issue were not answered.
The hope of more than 200 people who paid in full for the property over a year is hanging and government is silent about it .
