The Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council (EHDC)will be celebrating the Grand Patron, Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo CFR, Okukenu IV.
The royal father will turn 78 years old on 14th of September 2021,and the Council will be holding an Humanitarian programme on Tuesday 5th of October at Ake Palace to celebrate Kabiyesi’s birthday with the Elderly.
This was made known through a release made available to newsmen by
the Director General of Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council, Aare Jide Taiwo during the weekend in Abeokuta.
Ekiti State Governor,His Excellency Dr Kayode Fayemi will be the guest Speaker,and also deliver a lecture on ; Effective Pension system and establishment of Senior Citizens centre at state level. The chairman of the event is Prof. Akin Mabogunje and Dr. Taiwo Afolabi will be special guest of honour.
Aare Taiwo said the 2nd edition of the free annual Alake of Egbaland Medi-Care for Elderly ( Jigi Alake Initiative) screening will be conducted, as well as checks for Diabetes, and Highblood Pressure.
He added that free drugs for Diabetes and Eyeglasses will be given to all the Elderly aged 65 years and above,as the event will hold within the Alake of Egbaland palace.
Aare Taiwo encouraged people living in Abeokuta to inform the Elderly around to use the opportunity to benefit from this medical mission as it is open to all.
