HON FAYOYIN EMERGES OGUN NNPP GUBER CANDIDATE

The Delegates of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State yesterday ratified the candidature of Hon. Olujobi Ezekiel Fayoyin as its governorship candidate.

The event held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta, brought party leaders, loyalists and electoral umpires together to witness the official endorsement of Hon. Olujobi Ezekiel Fayoyin as its governorship candidate. 

In a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the party and signed by 19 out of the 20 local government chairmen of the party in the state, the party referred his action to the provision of section 84(1) of the Electoral Act 2022, and in compliance with article 13(9) of NNPP’s constitution.

The exercise conducted by the NNPP electoral committee, monitored by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was peaceful  with accordance with the law.

Dogonnama, chairman of the electoral committee announced Hon Fayoyin as winner after a voice vote at the primary.

The State Chairman of NNPP, Comrade Olaposi Oginni stated that with Fayoyin’s emergence the party is set to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election. 

He advised that Governor Dapo Abiodun should start preparing his hand over note ahead of the next election. 

Oginni added that, “We are here to ratify nomination of one of us, who you have chosen, but you will still chose before INEC. 

“We are ready to take over Ogun State. By this we are sending warning to Governor Dapo Abiodun to begin writing his hand over note because we are ready to take over in 2023.

“We are not joking. We are ready to take over from the incompetency.

“APC thinks they are Goliath, but NNPP has come in form of David and we are ready to subdue them. We will rescue the state from political vampires .”

Responding, the 35-year-old businessman, Fayoyin applauded the delegates for electing him as the party candidate. 

He sought for the support of the youth and the good people of Ogun State for him to emerge as the governor at the poll.
