Some chieftains of Labour Party in Ogun State yesterday have decamped to the leading opposition party, New Nigeria People’s Party.

They were Labour Party leaders from Yewa North including their local government chairman. The members were received at the party secretariat in Abeokuta the state capital by the party chairman, Comrade Olaposi Oginni , the party governorship candidate,Hon Ezekiel Fayoyin and other party loyalists.

The new members Olasumkanmi Adeola, Adeniyi Adewale, Akinola Waidi,Waheed Elegbede, Tiamiyu Rasheed, Philip Odebiyi ,Oluwanishola Olatayo promised to work with the party to achieve its goals,and mobilize their individual communities to vote for NNPP.

The state chairman of NNPP, Comrade Oginni said it was a welcome development and also a sign that the forthcoming election will be remarkable for the victory of NNPP in Nigeria.

He said,”NNPP is a moving train and the oppositions are jittering in every part of the state. NNPP is a party to watch out for in the election,as we are determined to bring the true democracy to play and bring an end to the period of political impunity and looting of our collective treasure.”

Comrade Oginni also added that ,”we are tired of recycling of old political jobbers and their capitalist associates whose goal is to destroy the nation. Whoever that truly love this nation should join hands with us to redirect the political situation of this country.We have started, and we shall be victorious God willing.”
