The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun,Mfr has stressed on the importance of giving accreditation to the State’s health institution.
Special Adviser to the governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa who made this known during a Pre- NBTE accreditation facility Inspection tour to the Ogun State College of Health Technology (OSCOH-TECH), Ilese-Ijebu said the health Institute has full capacity to be accredited.
He said the institute boasts of massive project of infrastructure which include; modern lecture rooms, E-library and a host of other modern facilities in the X-ray technology lab, X-ray Dental technology Laboratory, Dental therapy clinic laboratory and Digitalized lecture rooms equipped with smart boards for ease of teaching/ learning process.
Odemuyiwa noted that the Health College was important to the present administration in the State for its peculiarity as a specalised middle -level health management staff training monotech and commended the expertise displayed by the graduates of the school during the period of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Special Adviser stated that the institutions which one of those under the purview of the National Board for Technical Education, should also make use of their various modern equipment to also generate revenue to sustain the institution and its programs.
He pleaded that the parents of students should not harbor any fears over any increment of fees saying the college should look inwards through their products and services based on NBTE rule to be financially sustained.
In his welcome address, the Provost, of the College, Dr. Abiodun Oladunjoye, appreciated the State for giving keen attention to the Health sector and meeting with their needs while promising that they would be ready to render healthcare service delivery to Ogun citizenry.
