Ogun State House of Assembly has charged the Management of the State Signage and Advertisement Agency to further update its financial records to promote the principle of transparency and accountability in line with the public service rules.
The Chairman, House Committee on Public Account and Anti-corruption, Hon. Musefiu Lamidi, gave the charge during the continuation of the 2018 audit report consideration of some MDAs, with a directive to the agency to immediately furnish the committee with all relevant records consisting of inflows and outflows of financial statements from 2018 till June 2020.
Musefiu in company of other lawmakers stressed the need for diligence and prudence in the running of the affairs of the agency, with a view to promoting good governance.
The lawmaker also urged the management team to address all issues raised in the audit report, especially on the insurance for all fixed assets and regular update of asset register.
The Committee also considered the audit report of the State Hospital, Ota, and thus requested for all financial records of accounts for Years 2018, and 2019 as well as January to June 2020.
Responding, the Head of Finance and Accounts in the State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Mr. Ojuola Hammed and the Managing Director of State Hospital, Ota promised to ensure that all records requested by the lawmakers would be provided in due course.
