The Ogun State chapter of the National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS) has publicly declared its support for the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, representing Ogun West in the National Assembly.
At a press conference held at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre in Abeokuta, the association’s president, Comrade Florence Badejo, lauded Senator Adeola’s governance record, citing his consistency, competence, and compassion as key reasons behind their endorsement.
“Senator Yayi’s leadership style embodies the principles of true democracy,” Badejo said. “We believe his vision and leadership will drive sustainable progress in Ogun State and contribute to national development.”
She emphasized that the association, as a body of political science scholars and future policymakers, sees Adeola as a representation of the democratic ideals they study and aspire to uphold. “Our endorsement is not just symbolic. It’s a call for purposeful, visionary, and people-centered leadership,” she added.
Badejo also extended appreciation to Hon. Akeem Oluseye, describing him as a “philanthropist and builder of men” whose continued support for student welfare makes him a role model for young people. “He is a beacon of hope to students across the state,” she stated.
In her closing remarks, Badejo reaffirmed the association’s commitment to actively support Senator Adeola’s political journey. “We will give every support to the cause of his emergence. His victory is a step toward the better Ogun State we envision.”
The press briefing was attended by other members of the association’s leadership, including Vice President Salawudeen Moruf, Public Relations Officer Comrade Pacheco Ayonide Temidayo, and Comrade Paul Victor Offiong, among others.
Senator Adeola has yet to formally declare his intention to run in the 2027 governorship election, but political observers see endorsements like this as early momentum for a likely campaign.
