The Local Government elections in Ogun State have been described as peaceful as the exercise witnessed massive low turnout across the state, necessitating the extension of the voting hour to 3pm.
The Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu, while monitoring the exercise in Wards 11, Polling Unit 19, Sodeke, Isale- Ijeun , and Ward 12, Polling Unit 015, Ibara, all in Abeokuta South Local Government, commended the people for their peaceful conduct.
Our correspondent observed that among member of the ruling party, decided to stay away from this political process as some factional members of People Democratic Party members (PDP)also stayed away.
