The Ogun state Commissioner of Police,CP Edward Ajogun said exclusive breastfeeding is very important in the upbringing of responsible and crime free individuals in the society.
He made this known yesterday at Force Headquarters Eleweran Abeokuta at a seminal organised by Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ)Ogun She Chapter,in collaboration with Police Officers Wife Association (POWA)Ogun State.
He said,” breastfeeding is a complete nutrients that the baby needs to grow well and be in good health.A child that is well feed,will be free from all childhood infection,and his IQ will be excellent.Such individuals in the society, will become lawyers, Medical doctors, Engineers ,Police officers like me and so on.The good thing is that,we will have a crime free society,where we can sleep with our two eyes closed.”
Earlier in the opening address by the chairperson of POWA,Mrs Millicent Ajogun,said the well being of the children is the focus of women.She added that,”the bond created at childbirth and during the tortuous commitment of nurture can never be broken.This nurturing begins with breastfeeding.”
The program featured medical personnels that discussed breastfeeding and family planning exclusively, taking questions from the audience.
